Nous sommes heureux d’annoncer que le Guide de la Suisse est maintenant disponible en français! Ce petit pays que nous connaissons pour ses yodles, fromages et surtout pour ses banquiers, a une relation forte et historique avec la France. Siamo felici di annunciarvi la messa in rete delle pagine comunità per gli Italiani all’estero! Ora potrete usare uno degli aspetti più importante del sito senza dovere cambiare di lingua. Come ben si sa tantissimi Italiani vivono all’estero, dallo studente, al professore, passando dal cameriere. Infatti, il sito è già utilizzato da più di 120,000 utenti al mese in Italiano, e questo senza la parte comunità! Dunque approffittate di queste nuove pagine per conoscere altre persone! • ”A Danish” er det engelske ord for de danske “Wienerbrød”, hvilket litterært set betyder brød fra Wien!.
• Dansk har status dom et mindretalssprog i nabolandet Tyskland, hvor en lille gruppe folk taler sproget.
• “I fart” betyder på engelsk “jeg prutter”. Skiltene i de danske elevatorer med denne indskrift blev efter sigende dækkes til da Englands Dronning besøgte Danmark.

Turkey was once a relatively poor country with a weak economy, but in recent years it has stabilized its currency and become a tourism powerhouse. According to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s statistics, some 14,000,000 foreign nationals either traveled to or lived in Turkey between January 2007 and July 2009.

Foreigners visit Turkey for reasons varying from relaxing in luxury villas along the Mediterranean coast to obtaining state of the art medical care in Turkey’s outstanding private clinics. In addition, expats are retiring to Turkey in ever-increasing numbers. Presently, as Turkey moves forward with a large role in the Nabucco gas pipeline project, its importance to the international community will only grow.

You might have noticed that some parts of Just Landed suddenly started looking a bit different recently (see below, the Just Landed Expat Community or Expat Jobs for an idea of what I am talking about.

This blog and the Guides part of the site are still on the old look and will change soon. The main objective was to make it easier to use, but we also wanted to make it a little more ‘fun’. Comments so far have been positive, we hope you like it!

As well as a new look, we have also done a lot of work on the underlying code to make it work better. I will spare you the technical details, but this is mainly to get in a better position to improve the current services and add new ones over the coming months. We also have the pleasant problem of more and more people using Just Landed, so are working hard to keep the site quick and responsive.

We are just completing the first stage of this process. It has been a little painful for both our users and us. Our testing did not pick up all of the issues so quite a few things stopped working properly (sorry if this caught you!). If you see anything wrong, or have any problems, please get in touch as we would really appreciate it.

After a disappointing traffic development in spring, growth has now picked up again. This is partially due to some architectural changes we implemented to cope with the increasing server load. As Just Landed continues to grow, scalability of the platform becomes more and more important to guarantee speed of page delivery.

Already of today, Just Landed has become one of the worldwide leading online destinations for people moving countries, making it the platform of choice for expatriate advertising on a global scale. During the last month, we have been working on a complete redesign of the site which will be launched within the next weeks – so stay tuned on upcoming developments! As always, we welcome any feedback that helps us make our site even better in the future.
