73% of young Germans can imagine living abroad

According to a new poll by comparis.ch, 43% of German workers can imagine moving abroad. Among young Germans up to 30 years old, this percentage even rises to 73%.

One of the most attractive destinations for German expatriates is Switzerland. The main reasons for moving to Switzerland are higher salaries (79%), lower taxes (78%), the beauty of the country (68%) and the low language barriers (61%). According to the Bundesamt für Migration (Federal Migration Bureau) some 30.000 Germans moved to Switzerland in 2007. In total, 43% of German workers can imagine moving to Switzerland at some point of time.
